EINVERSTANDEN

Dr. Michael Effing, Chairman, and Dr. Elmar Witten, Spokesperson for the Management, were re-elected to their offices for a further year at the last meeting of the Board and Executive Management of the trade association Composites Germany. The meeting also defined the next steps for establishing composites as a key industry in high wage countries.

"We were very satisfied with the first edition of the joint International Composites Congress (ICC) and would like to thank our partner country, the USA, as well as the approx. 350 participants from 22 countries and international speakers for helping to make the event such a success," says Dr. Michael Effing.

All agreed that the first conference enjoyed a successful première and anticipate that the next will be even more international in character.

The meeting agreed to develop its own lobbying strategy and to continue the organisation's work on standards and standardisation.

Education and training are a top priority for 2016. Composites Germany aims to guarantee a seamless chain of training and educational programmes for the entire sector.
"Sustainability and recycling" will be a further key area for all the member organisations of Composites Germany. Effective recycling technologies and systems will be essential if CRP materials are to gain widespread acceptance in industrial applications.

"Our familiar 6-monthly market survey and public relations activities in the political and trade sectors will continue to be very important elements of the work we do here at Composites Germany," says Dr. Elmar Witten.

The 2nd International Composites Congress (ICC) will take place from 28. - 29.11.2016 in Düsseldorf and feature Japan as the partner country.
